Bedpans and urinals are used when getting to a bathroom or commode is not practical, such as during bed rest or overnight. This collection includes fracture and bariatric bedpans, plus disposable urinal bags.

Types of bedpans

Fracture bedpans: a low, tapered front edge slides under the person with less lifting. The McKesson fracture bedpan holds 34 oz.
Bariatric bedpans: larger, sturdier pans such as the AliMed bariatric bedpan and the Bariatric Comfort Pan, both rated to 1200 lb.

Urinals and urinal bags

CareBag men's urinal bags have a super absorbent pad inside that turns liquid into a gel, so the bag can be sealed and thrown away. They are handy for travel, the car or overnight use.

Tips for choosing

Compare the shape, capacity and weight rating of each bedpan, and think about who will be placing and emptying it. Many items are FSA/HSA eligible. Disposable underpads under the person can help keep bedding dry during use.
