To choose an adult brief size, measure around the waist and around the widest part of the hips, then use the larger number. Compare it with the size range on the package, which is usually listed in inches, such as 48-59 inches. How to measure
- Waist: measure around the waist at the belly button level.
- Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips and seat.
- Use the larger of the two numbers and find the size range that includes it.
- Between sizes? A brief that is too big can leave gaps at the legs, and one that is too small can pinch. Try a sample or a small pack before buying a full case.

Reading absorbency labels
Packages use words such as light, moderate, heavy and maximum or overnight. These describe how much liquid the product is designed to hold, and each brand uses its own scale.
